Back to the real world, a nice historical building amongst the skyscrapers

Good thing I set my alarm to wake up in time for the sunrise - first I went up to the harbor bridge thinking a view from above would be better, but luckily had time to run down to the Circular Quay directly across from the opera house to get some shots of the sunrise against it

The things people do while on vacation...this is in response to feedback to take MORE photos of Daniel - see what you get? Silly photos...

IMG_7818
The area around the habor there is called "The Rocks" and was one of the earliest parts of Sydney to be colonized

Another view of Sydney's Opera House

On our way to Manly Beach (Bondi beach wasn't too often recommended by locals - either because it was too crowded or touristy I'm not sure)

IMG_7854
There was a nice walk along the ocean at Manly Beach

IMG_7864
Neat idea (but kind of redundant) to have a raised swimming pool above the ocean

IMG_7868
I assume the New South Wales Department of Environment & Climate Change does more than make benches...perhaps they change the environment (in larger ways than via benches)?

This bench with the plaque "In loving memory of our baby Zoe 16th July 2001 You will always be in our hearts" had a very pretty view of the ocean and cliffs and was at the end of a short trail

IMG_7894

IMG_7896
This photo was Daniel's idea, taken on the way back down the trail

IMG_7903
Manly surfers...literally (there were a lot of rocks near here too...)

IMG_7906
Manly kayaker near some manly divers

IMG_7919
The boulders along the path seen earlier had metal figures for various Manly activities

IMG_7922
Fragile spider's web on a plant

IMG_7924
The perfect place to practice your manly walk

Back to Sydney for the evening and on to Melbourne!
